Section Breakdown:

  1. Section 1: A conversation between two speakers in a social context (e.g., booking a hotel room or renting an apartment).
  2. Section 2: A monologue in a social context (e.g., a talk about local facilities or services).
  3. Section 3: A conversation between up to four people in an educational or training context (e.g., a university tutor and a student discussing an assignment).
  4. Section 4: A monologue on an academic subject (e.g., a university lecture).

Tips for Success:

  1. Practice Active Listening: Focus on understanding the main ideas, details, and speaker attitudes.
  2. Develop Note-Taking Skills: Jot down key points, especially during sections with longer monologues.
  3. Predict Answers: Anticipate what the speakers will say next to help you follow along.
  4. Manage Your Time: Don’t get stuck on one question; move on if you’re unsure and come back later if you have time.
  5. Familiarize Yourself with Different Accents: Listen to a variety of English accents before the test to feel comfortable with different speech patterns.
